This month I hosted my new Menopause Spa Day at the gorgeous venue, St Ives Barns. The feedback received from my guests was outstanding, so there will be more to come from this venue.

I just wanted to say thank you so much for today. It was very much needed

Community

At the core of all of my retreats, and one of the reasons why I keep the guest numbers small. Sharing of experiences, symptoms and the menopause journey so far, enable my guests to understand that they are not alone, unwell or losing their mind. Opportunities to laugh and let off steam are abundant. Feedback repeatedly tells me this is something that guests love and return for.

Yesterday was the beginning of me looking after me, the ice bath felt like an awakening. Thank you, thank you, thank you !!

Education

I like all of my retreats to be the perfect mix of education and relaxation. After welcoming the guests and settling in with refreshments we began our day discussing the main nutritional and lifestyle aspects to focus on to help them alleviate any perimenopause & menopausal symptoms they may be experiencing. My aim here is to help my guests to not just feel like themselves again, but a newer, more revitalised version. Keeping things simple, we focused on five key nutrition aspects that each of them could take away an implement in their own lives immediately.

My experience is that menopause is not the end, but the start of a wonderful transition .

menopause pilatesPilates is a wonderful addition to your midlife armoury, offering both strength and relaxation. We were extremely lucky to be joined by Rebecca of Posture Pilates for this retreat, who shared her knowledge on how this can be of benefit to my guests, along with some everyday moves they could take away and practice at home.

Food

Our delicious vegetarian lunch was provided by The River Colne Food Co. Each item carefully selected to provide lots of lovely plant based variety, but just as important was that it tasted amazing. It’s safe to say that this lived up to expectations and was enjoyed on the decked outdoor seating area whilst the sun shone down on us.

The Venue

Well, what’s not to like! The afternoon was spent simply relaxing and enjoying the facilities of St Ives Barns. The cold plunge was the source of much excitement and after one guest went in, almost everyone followed. No one wanted to miss out on the feeling of pure exhilaration that followed. The hydrotherapy pool, brought the ladies back together for the jacuzzi, swim current and underwater treadmill. I’m sure many of the guests will be returning to this private spa to make use of this fabulous venue again.

Thank you so much for such a warm welcome and a total escape yesterday. The ice bath really was amazing – so much so that when I couldn’t sleep this morning I woke my sister up and took the dogs to the beach for a swim.

Gift Bags

Menopause spa day gift bagsEach of my guests was treated to a gift bag with a value of over £100.

Beautiful products from Menvy – a calming sleep spray and menopause oil both designed to relax the body and mind. Stress is such an important aspect of symptom management and these divine smelling products are sure to help with this.

In addition to these, I was delighted to collaborate with Living M who kindly provided their full size Quench & Sooth Serum and Collagen Boost Moisturiser. I have been using these products myself and I have to say that my skin has loved both. They have some fab information on their website about why you need to change your skincare routine during menopause.
